The graphics in Need for Speed: Underground 2 are still stunning, depicting realistically shining car exteriors, water reflections on the streets, and characteristic blur effects when reaching extreme speed thanks to the Nitrous Oxide implementation. Thirty licensed cars, mainly from brands such as Mitsubishi, Nissan, Honda and Subaru, and a massive number of parts such as rims, neon lights, and spoilers provide the players with a combined number of seventy billion unique combinations. Virtual conversations overheard by the player will also deliver information about the locations of different shops that specialize in car customization. However, the players may also challenge those drivers for races starting at a nearest intersection. During the exploration, the players may encounter other drivers, who serve as a source of information about the events concerning the enthusiasts of high speed races. The entire gameplay takes place after dark. The players can now freely explore the metropolis that consists of five large, distinctive districts.
With great graphics and lots of action though, there's a lot to love about Need For Speed Underground.The gameplay has been efficiently modified, turning it more towards the Grand Theft Auto and Driver series. Slower computers might also have difficulties running the game without a few hiccups in gameplay. The only real criticism fans of this game might have is that there are no cops features in Need For Speed Underground. You can also upgrade your car's performance when it comes to the engine to make street racing through Olympic City even more nail-biting. Some of these include widebody kits, spoilers, rims, window tints and decals. There's also a huge variety of tuning options in Need For Speed Underground, sure to satisfy any true race car fan.
